Hi Volvo Comrades !

I am one of the Volvo - fans from Czech Republic, but i need some help directly from you, vikings ! :D

This summer i am planning to visit your beautiful country (i was there several times, but now i am going alone first time ).
But i don´t know what is needed from me & my car to have, to be not suprised (or even punished) by your royal police 8)

So what kind of fees i have to pay, where and so. And aren´t there any special anticipations against red Volvos 850 T5 ? I mean aren´t they often driven by "mad" young drivers?

I am quite young too, but i´m going just to visit you, not to get arrested. So i am asking first :D

Thx for your answers and sorry for my english. It´s not my motherlanguage, but still better than my swedish :D

Okej. I really doesnt understand what the problem is.

obey the speedlimit, dont drink and drive.

Then you shouldnt have any problems with the police.

And doent sell cheep beer out of your Trunk!

Thx for response.

So I don´t have to buy any special permission to use motorways in sweden?

And I will be tourist, not smuggler

Do you thing in that way about all "people from the east" ? Maybe you have bad expiriences with some sort of them. But believe me, I am NOT this sort...

Anyway, this kind of things is more often made by poles

I think i don´t have enough space in car :D

But if you mean that serious send me a PM with adress and i will send it by post, but really no 245L

This is maybe one of greatest disadvantages in your country, you have to pay for 500ml beer approximately 70 - 100 kronor, but in czech republic it´s from 5 - 10 kronor (i mean swedish currency). So there is a quite difference :D

But this has altered my topic from asking for infos to smuggling a beer :D

No permissions needed at all. :-) Only permission needed, is a valid drivers license.

To have in mind:
Obey speed limit (as said already) (high costs for a speed ticket)
Keep seat belt on, goes for all in the car (high cost for not be buckled up)
Do not use regular light and fog light at the same time. But, make sure you have lights on, 'cause the police don't like cars running around without ligths. :-D

That's about it. Common sence, and you'll be just fine in our roads.

Best regards/ Adde

Thanks ! That´s what i wanted to know ! I am Volvo fan so i think belts, lights and obeying speedlimits is common sense 8)

But when i was in sweden last time (august 2005), i saw lots of tuned 2xx and 8xx (with LED diods & loudy exhausts) wich weren´t definitely obeying any rules. Do you like these kind of drivers ? In Tjeckien we have the same idiots (but instead of Volvo 2xx they drive old Skoda 120, Felicia or Golf) is your police doing something with this kind of "young mad drivers" ?

And i think, that any tuning wich includes LED diods and crazy spoilers on Volvo is a crime !

There is loads of cars from baltic states and poland so you won't have the only foreign car in Sweden. Most of these cars is owned by craftsmen (carpenters and so on) and they all are "regular" cars like Volvo, VW and BMW.

Drive by traffic regulation like speedlimit and other signs and there will be no problems.

Park your car where allowed, otherwise you will get a high fee and if you won't move it it might be towed and there will be even more costs for you.

Blue light (Like LED or similar) is not allowed at cars (only for emergency services vehicles).
