wrong, the leaf spring on Nivomat vehicles are weaker than on non-Nivomat vehicles
So without the Nivomats the vehicle will be lower.

Sorry if I expressed myself unclearly: Nivomat vehicles have weaker springs than non-Nivomat vehicles. Exactly so. But the Nivomat doesn't do anything until you load the vehicle so it sinks below the normal level of an empty vehicle AND you need to drive it for a bit, then the Nivomat will help the spring lift the vehicle to the normal level. An empty Nivomat vehicle will have the same height as a empty vehicle without Nivomats. When you load the vehicles, the one with Nivomats will sink more than the one without, because its spring is weaker, but the vehicle will raise itself to normal level when it is driven, thanks to the Nivomats. The non-Nivomat vehicle will have the same level.

Lowering a car like the 965 will -in my opinion- just make the ride more uncomfortable, as the car will hit the rear suspension bump stops at any small bump in the road and it will be totally useless for loading and/or towing.

Very interesting point you're talking about.

First priority is the function of the car so driving with a full loaded car and move as comfortable as possible.

would have liked to get the v90 bit lower at all but not if this means really bad driving condition.

one thing I heard was that sometimes people remove the rear axle and change it to one of the 960 or 850 with Independent suspension for every wheel.
Anybody here who knows a bit more about this?

If you look at the image you can see that the shock absorber is threaded on the outside and it has two stop nuts so you can choose high of the car to any level you want between normal level and max 85mm lower than normal in rear end and between normal and 125mm lower at the front. The spring on the shock absorber helps the original plate spring to work. You will lost the effect of Nivomat that rise the car when it’s loaded, it will be much harder in the suspension all the time than before. You don’t have to lower the car max. Maybe about 40mm will be enough.

These you linked to is a complete kit of front and rear coilovers for only 1177,24 €
http://www.myranesracing.com/store/en/k ... 0-v90.html

Yes the 960 MK1 multilink has spring coil suspention (960 91-94 sedans only, the 760 88-90 also has the MK1 multilink sedans only). On modelyear 1995 the 960 got a facelift and the new MK2 multilink also got mounted in the estate wagons and thats is the same as the S/V90 models.

I think that coilovers are the best option to get hight adjustments on these cars if you want something else than stock nivomatic height.
