I will do this in English, I don’t know all the technical word in Swedish…

I have a Volvo S80N D5 my2007 lovely car :) It is equipped with a factory fitted Bluetooth module but has broken down. I bought a used module from Jönköpings Bildemontering and now it work but only in 20-30 seconds. However this is stated in VIDA that the module will lock down 20-30 second after power on until it has been reloaded with software BPM reload part number 30775612. I went to an independent workshop but with full access to Goteborg trough VIDA and he ordered the software and tried to reload my car but was unsuccessful. He tried a couple of time but said that it was because it was a used module and I should buy a factory new one.

My question to you guys: Is it true what he says?

When I look in VIDA it seems that the CEM module cannot be transferred from other cars, but other module can. Does anybody know how it works? Is the BPM module locked to the donor car? Should Volvo in Goteborg somehow clear/unlock it in their servers? Anything else?

I appreciate all the help I can get and you can write the answers in Swedish, no problems

When a car is built in the factory the vehicle information is sent to the vehicle archive where the
vehicle configuration is stored. When downloading using VADIS, the vehicle archive is updated
with the modifications. This occurs when the confirmation file is sent to the Volvo central
database.

The software product type add or remove functionality is used to expand or decrease the
functionality in the car. This is mainly carried out by modifying the car configuration file in the
central electronic module (CEM) (applies to accessories which do not require hardware to be
replaced). Modifying this file results in new functionality for the car

The other control modules in the car use the car configuration file to function in a particular way.

The exchange of control modules between vehicles can be managed. The control module will
function if it is suitable for the that particular car. If not the User receives an error message

Byter du CEM modul (central electronic module) som suttit i en annan bil "stämmer" det inte i Volvos databas vad din bil har för CEM modul nu antar jag och CEM modulen verkar ju vara speciell på det sättet att den innehåller "car configuration file". Gissar att det är därför man inte kan flytta runt en sådan modul mellan bilar hur som helst.

Det var bra läsning material. När jag läste det, då VADIS / VIDA måste veta att det finns en ny modul i bilen, annars läser samma konfiguration i bilen. Men få det att veta att det finns en ny, uppdatera servern på Volvo och sänder en ny konfigurationsfil til bilen.

Och jag tror att mekanikern bara gjorde en reload, utan att tala om att det fanns en ny modul

Jag kommer med en uppdatering när jag har talat till verkstaden

Ledsen för det sena svaret ..

Jag har inte löst mitt problem. Besökte verkstadet igen, men de håller sig till att du inte kan använda begagnade moduler.

Jag har spurgt Bilia i Danmark och de säger att de inte vet det, men skulle vilja prova - mot en avgift förstås. Jönköpings bildemontering säger att det är möjligt, eftersom de aldrig har haft en modul tillbaka och har solgt många av dem.

Jag vill inte spendera mer pengar när jag inte är säker på om du kan eller inte.

Men tack för hjälpen och om andre har input, så hör jag gillar :)

Intressant dokument men möjligtvis lite inaktuellt, lite osäkert hur mycket av beskrivning som fortfarande gäller. Sista versionen av Vadis var enligt uppgift 2005, så sedan länge är det numera Vida som gäller.
