Hi all,
I´d like to intorduce myself , My Name is Frederic and i Live in Luxemburg, unfortunately i don´t speak Swedish but i can understand some when i read it. I´m 40 years old an own a VOLVO V60 (is already my 3rd VOLVO) T4F converted to LPG GAS. So actually a Tri FUEL.
My Problem is as follows.
My Car has a Problem in the Morning when the engine is cold. The car starts immediately but after 6-10 seconds the engine start running rough and makes Misfires. then i stop the engine and after a restart it´s all fine. also the car runs fine on LPG and an Regular FUEL.
When i drive away immediately after the cold start i´ve no misfires only for 2-3 seconds a very soft and short surging of the car which is not a bigger Problem. What i found out.........
I´ve also a VIDA Diagnose tool which can read out all the Parameters of the car.
Regular Super Plus FUEL has here in Luxembourg about 5-10% Ethanol. Normally the Car ECU calculates the Ethanol Level via the Trim Values and the fuel consumption.
The last time i checked the Parameters in the VIDA it Showed "ECM calculated Ethanol Value" - 60%
These 60% are totally wrong because I only drive on "normal FUEL" so it should be about 8%
This would explain the surging at the cold engine When the Lambda is not working.
I changed this value manually to 8% then the following happend
The Long Term FUEL Trim goes from 0% to +25% upper upper Limit.
in the Engine Idleing sometimes the MIL lighted and the ening ran rough with misfires on Cylinders 1&4
I changed the values to 35% Ethanol - now the Long term fuel Trim is at 14%...bitter but not ideal.
The local VOLVO Dealer has not idea what it could be ....also not another VOLVO Dealer in Germany.......The Problem is the lack of expericence with flexifuel cars.
What i think it could be....
There seems to be a lack of fuel in the cylinders. The can can compensate this with the assumption that the Ethanol Value is high an injects more.
of tries to inject more.
could it be an Injector Problem ?
has somebody made experiences with this?
i´m grateful for all help
you may also contact me via Email on [email protected]
Best Regards and Merry Christmas.
