Hi,
My relatively new S80 D5 163 HP Volvo (Geartronic) has a problem which results to that the engine rpm does NOT increase above arround 1600 rpm.
The mechanic has problems locating the source of the problem.

Has anybody exeprienced something similar ?
Does anybody have any suggestions regarding the source of the problem ?

Först o främst måste man veta vad det är för felkoder i systemet.
Anledningen till att motorn går som den gör nu är att den går i Limp Home läge.

Motorn går in i en "halta hem" läge eller på data språk Felsäkert läge .


Om tex en detalj går sönder som gör att motorns effekt reduceras avsevärt så ställer motorstyrsystemet alla parametrar på ett Limp home läge, allt för att du ska kunna köra bilen hem, till verkstad eller till en avställningsplats och inte bli stående där felet inträffade

För att kunna ta reda på det måste man veta vilka felkoder systemen har.
Det finns för mycket saker som kan göra tt den går in i det läget för att man ska chansa. Eftersom den är så ny kan du ju lämna in den utan att det kostar dig något.

I understand that it is important to know which error messages the car is "issuing" in order to troubleshoot the issue.
I am though really surprised that this has happened, because the car is EXTREMELY new.

By the way does anybody know how a Volvo car is "certified" that it can leave the factory ? (what steps does Volvo follow to verify that the produced car meets predefined quality requirements)

Allt kan gå sönder, när som helst...
Eftersom bilen är ny, kör till verkstad för garantireparation.

Alla bilar testas enligt fastställda program. Volvofabrikerna är bl.a ISO certifierade och följer därför ett fastställ program för kvalitetskontroll. Mängder av punkter ingår i detta. Det mest uppenbara är att bilarna testkörs innan leverans..

Do you know, -or are there any indications regarding how long a car can be driven before such problems could occur ?

Also is it possible to get any info from Volvo regarding one specific car ? (if i supply the chassis nr) If yes then do you know whom i should contact ?
