Hej

I live in Sweden but Swedish is not my first language and I am trying to figure out why my V50 D5 Geartronic (2008) is sounding like a tractor.

Could someone help me with the following translations (sorry if this is the wrong forum):

"Engine mount" (the vacuum powered ones on the P1 Volvo seem to come out as "motorkudde" eller "motorfäste").
"Hydraulic lifters" (part of the valve gear?)

As I think it is one of these causing the issue.

If anyone has a rough idea of price a mainstream verkstad might charge for replacing these also?

Mvh
Chris.

Motorkudde or Motorfäste is common used for engine mount, the part "kudde" is more of a cushoning part of the mount and not always a part of the mount for some engines. (Audi has some engines with the mount and bushing (kudde) as two separate parts). 100% translation of kudde is "pillow", so its a kind of slang to talk about kudde in engines.

The term "motorkudde" is a bit older though, i don´t hear it as much, but, in Sweden there is 2-3 areas, south, middle and north where descriptions of stuff can differ alot due to accent differences. So it might be used more in the south maybe.
A funny example is the word "kuse", wich in some parts of Sweden describes a insect, and other parts a horse :-D

Edit: Looking at Autodoc and Trodo, they use motorfäste for more rigid mounts, and motorkudde where some bigger bushings are involved. "motormontering" is also used, its a bad translation but used as a term. (not a term in Swedish language, as it suggest doing a engine assembly, but used on these websites for some strange reason)

Hydraulic lifters translates pretty straight to "hydrauliska lyftare" or only the word "lyftare" when talking about engines.
Sometimes as "ventillyftare", sloppy translated to valve lifters - used sometimes even as the lifters are hydraulic.

Can´t help you with the tech on a diesel, never touched these diesel engines, but if you can make a video clip and upload to youtube and paste it here, i bet others can give you a few hints where to start looking to remedy your tractor noises :-)
