Well, there is IPDUSA.com and TASCAPARTS.com, but the best thing to do would be to have someone find a pair at a junkyard or even better a pick-n-pull. I'd be happy to grab a pair for you or anyone else when I'm at the yards. Just give me a holler at brian.maxwell.wiley [at] gmail [dot] com. I don't have a pair yet, so if anyone would like to trade me I'd be into that as well. Mine look great still, so keep it in mind. Thanks!

Well, for me I think it's more of a safety issue because the E-Code lights are significantly brighter and more focused (although one I might be able to partially resolve with upgraded wiring and a direct voltage). I'm moving to Minnesota and anticipating a lot of icy, dark nights.

But also because they look pretty cool. Probably the same reason why some people there like to run USA-style lights ;)

One should always remember that preferences are different and should never be discussed.

Have a nice day.

Hey everyone! I found my e-code lights--genuine Cibie's. They look good too! But I'm left with a pair of perfectly great USA style headlights and reflectors. Would anyone be interested in them? They're in great shape and I'll gladly ship them to Sweden. I'm not looking to make a a bunch of money, just find them a good home. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll let you know the price including what it'd cost to ship them and send some pictures your way.

Tackar,

Brian

Good point! I was thinking 1650 sek, plus shipping. I'm not sure what that would be though...

Also, I might be willing to trade for a good pair of E-Code headlights. I've got a buddy that would appreciate a pair. What I'm get it at is that I'm open to suggestions.

Well a pair of headlamps wouldn't be any problem to find ^^

But I don't know about the shipping costs, do you have a little hint about what it would cost?

I'm not so interested in the lamps myself but I know that there are many others I know about.

How much worse is the light from the usa lights in compare to e-code?

I just looked and to ship from the USA to Sweden is less than 500 kronor. That's for 3-5 day mail, but you can save a 100:- just by waiting an extra day or two. So that's not nearly as bad as I thought. I have no idea what shipping would be from there to here though, and I'm afraid my knowledge of swedish still leaves me unprepared to navigate the waters of the postal system.

As for the light, I would never classify it as bad, and certainly not dangerous by any means. I definitely noticed a difference, but I also upgraded the wiring at the same time using relay switches, so it's a bit hard to say what to attribute the difference to. My guess from people who have made a straight switch is that it's a slight upgrade.

The other factor to consider is where you're driving. I live in a rural area and as such it's pitch black all the time. But if you were in a city, it would never be noticeable . Also, I'm sure a pair of Hella lights attached to the bumper would take care of any loss in light. That's just my two cents though.

There is a very good page that gives the reasons why you Europeans have superior lighting over there, as well as some photos of the difference. http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~ridgely/e-code.htm
