Har en 850 från -96 ett ODB/ ODB2-uttag? (var kan det finnas? vis rattstången / i motorrummet/)
Finns det några matnyttiga felkoder som kan avläsas? (Har en ganska bra ODB2-läsare)

Hittade ett förfarande att släcka servicelampan som jag tänker testa (Servicelampa Volvo 855-97)
(Har aldrig gjort det när jag bla. bytt olja...)
Nollställning av SRL-lampa (Service Reminder Lamp)
För att nollställa servicelampan utför proceduren enligt nedan:

• Tändning av.
• Tryck in och håll kvar nollställningsknappen för trippmätaren.
• Slå på tändningen.
• Fortsätt att trycka in nollställningsknappen i 10 sekunder, då 10 sekunder har gått blinkar SRL-lampan.
• Släpp nollställningsknappen inom 4 sekunder efter att lampan börjat blinka.

Ska kolla om mitt iCarsoft instrument kan hantera denna Volvo (aldrig tänkt på det skulle kunna fungera)
eller om min diodläsare för jämnåriga Citroen har rätt koppling...

Du verkar ha rätt. Servicelampan kan inte nollställas utan verktyg . .: volvospeed.com - service light reset
If you have a 1996-1998 850, S/V/C 70, then an expensive reset tool is needed to reset the service light.

For those that have a 1996-1998 Volvo, you might ask the dealer to set the counters to 12,500 miles,
1000 engine hours, 18 months, should you want to keep the service light off as long as possible.
The resetting of the counters is done with the Volvo Scan Tool (VST) and if you are having a service done,
they should be more than willing to reset the settings for you.
Should ignorance be claimed, the VST is used, in the electricial section under programing.

Volvo 850 (1993-1995) Service Light Reset
Under the hood there are 2 diagnostic units (labeled A and B on the cover) next to the washer reservoir.

• 1. Turn on the ignition and open diagnostic unit A.
• 2. Locate the flylead (the test wire that is in the plastic holder).
• 3. Insert the flylead into socket 7.
• 4. Press the large round test button on the diagnostic unit 4 times, briefly but firmly.
• 5. When the LED flashes and then stays lit, it will accept the reset code.
• 6. The reset code for the service light is 1-5-1.
• 7. Press the large round test button firmly one time and then release it. The LED should be lit.
• 8. Press the button firmly 5 times and then release it. The LED should be lit.
• 9. Press the button firmly one more time and then release it. The LED will flash several times.
• 10. Turn off the ignition switch and replace the flylead in its holder and close the cover.

The Service Light has now been reset.

Volvo 850 (1996-1997)
You need the OBD II reset tool. The price is approx. $150.
Or take your car to a Volvo dealership or an independent Volvo shop.
Expect to pay $50-$75.

How to Use the Jumpers
Normally “Check Engine Light” information will be found in A2. Put the jumper into A2 and push the black button for one second. Count the red LED light as it blinks back information, blink, blink, pause, blink, blink, blink, pause, blink, blink, is an example of the response you would receive. 2-3-2 would be the code retrieved, now push the button again for one second, again count the blinks, keep checking for codes until one of them repeats, this means you have read all the codes.
Clearing Codes on your 850
Now to clear the codes, push and hold the button for 6-7 seconds, release and as soon as the LED comes on push and hold the button for another 6-7 seconds. Now push the button for one second and read the codes again, you should get 1-1-1 (no faults).
You Must Read All Codes before Clearing
Turn the ignition off and then start the car, the check engine light should be out. It is always a good idea to check for codes, clear them and then drive the vehicle to see if they return before replacing parts. The transmission can ask the check engine light to be turned on, so if you try clearing A2 codes and they wont go away try reading the transmission (A1), clear them , and then go back to A2.

Ska man vara lite krass så finns det en hel del underhåll som är viktigare än att släcka servicelampan Fixa rost innan det blir hål t.ex.
Kanske inte är så dumt att tejpa över lampan eller ta ur den om man har koll på sina oljebyten

Faktiskt rostfri (vad jag sett) - Norrlands bil (inte gått så mycket på saltade vägar.)
Men du har rätt (Jag trodde inte det var så komplicerat på denna bil )
Dock kan det vara bra att veta begränsningarna / möjligheterna när eller om t.ex. ABS -lampan börjar lysa.
(då blir man mer stressad om läget inte är under kontroll. )

Lösningen med all innerbelysning blev att plocka lös tak lampan vid spegeln.
Blåste lätt med tryckluft, för att blåsa bort ev. damm i kontakterna.
Sedan sprayade jag kontaktrengöring - väntade och sprayade igen (cleaner).
Till sist sprayade jag ett oxisskyddsmedel.
Monterade tillbaka lampan i taket och "vips" så fungerade alla knappar och all innerbelysning (även bak)
Lyser även ett tag efter dörren stängts (och tändningen av)
(bytte även bränslefilter och motorlaman slutade lysa - (gick inte helt bra, men lyfter det i en annan tråd)...
Har ännu inte gjort någon kodavläsning - Nu när lyset började fungera.
