Hello everyone,

my name is Hendrik. I am from Germany and unfortunately I don't know swedish :( so please excuse my writing in english.
I have owned a Volvo C30 MY2013 for two months now. The car is awesome!

Only when I try to use Spotify with my iPhone 5 (iOS 7.04) with my High Performance Audio system I can't get get it to work properly.

At first the soundsystem wouldn't recognize the iPhone. So I created a playlist with iTunes on my PC and synchronized it with the iPhone, suddenly the soundsystem could find the iPhone and even play Spotify music.

Sadly the "next" and "previous" controls on my steering wheel and the center stack don't work with Spotify. When I use them Spotify freezes or shows some random track number in the car display and continues playing the same track.

I was wondering if you were experiencing the same problems and if somebody knows a solutiuon for this problem?
I appreciate your help!

That's what I did

I did some more research and I found out that it seems to be a problem with the iPhone 5.
Other iPhones are reported to work just fine.

I have a C70 -13 with High Performance Audio system and my iPhone 5 is working fine both with USB and Bluetooth.
I use it with Spotify and all the buttons on the steringwheel is working fine.

Try uninstalling Spotify and then install it again and see if it works :)

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling spotify but it didnt help.
I also tried two other iPhone 5 and two iPad 4. Steering wheel buttons didn't work on either device.
This trick by Jonken86 made the "NEXT" button work, but not the "PREVIOUS". You also have to redo it everytime you start the car, as this setting is not saved :( :

Hejsan, har också haft detta problemet, men man kan faktiskt styra spotify med rattknapparna! Man går helt enkelt in under knappen meny på stereon, klickar vidare på random och väljer mapp. Då kommer det upp RDN folder på displayen, därefter kan du byta låtar med rattknapparna! Tack för mig!

@ GTHunter: Do you know if you have installed the latest firmware for your volvo's soundsystem?

If we have the same phone, the same iOS, the same App (spotify), the same soundsystem, it can only be the soundsystem's software.

I went to two different volvo dealers. They both had no solution, but checked my car's software and said EVERYTHING in the car had the newest software...

The Volvo online support had no ideas... :(

I also tried resetting the iphone and reinstalling Spotfy. It didn't help (S)
