Description:
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) detects that the basic conditions for adaptation are not met when trying to adapt the electronic throttle unit.
If other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are stored, these must be remedied first. These may have caused the adaptation to fail.
Cause:
The throttle is sticking or is blocked (e. g. oil film, dust)
Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals between the engine control module (ECM) and the electronic throttle unit.
Damaged throttle unit.
