Har nu tittat på kvaser:
Andreas, har du CAN-kort med PCI-gränssnitt (för en stationär PC) eller USB-gränssnitt (som även kan användas i en bärbar dator)?
PCI'en kostar runt 2500,- på Elfa, USBen är dyrare :(

C/C++ är nog bättre, så jag överväger om jag skall lära mig det.

Jag arbetar som programutvecklare och har använt C och C + + i många år.
på C så jag rekommenderar boken av författarna Kernighan & Ritchie

Mja, K&R är nog bra beroende på var man börjar. Jag tycker nog att "Vägen till C" av Bilting/Skansholm är bättre som instegsbok (ISBN 91-44-01468-6).

I alla fall, är bra råd till andra.

Jag har precis idag köpt en "CANUSB" CAN-läsare från lavicel.

Så jag skulle också vilja bygga en krets som kan hålla anslutningen öppen via K-linjen.

Hello, I don't speak Swedish but I have an 04 s60r and a CANUSB Lawicel device. I have successfully sniffed the canbus. You can connect to the canbus without this "keep alive" byte stuff. The connector is the green 10pin connector in the trunk for the RTI (GPS). I am trying to find CAN message IDs...andreas 80 can you help?

Oj här har det hänt lite sedan jag varit borta.
@JimDk. Kvaser skrev du om först, har tillgång till både ett LapCan och ett USBCan2. En kollega på jobbet har skrivit egna program till de interfacen med hjälp av deras egna bibliotek. Vi har även pratat om just felkodsutläsare nu, om vi ska utveckla en på jobbet eller ej. Blir det så, så kommer jag bli tvungen att vara lite försiktigt med vad jag skriver, hoppas ni förstår.

Har inte haft tiden att göra så mycket mer själv då jag har fått nytt uppdrag på jobbet, men jag har tittat på en krets från Atmel att bygga vidare på. (Är ju som sagt en "hårdvaru kille") så min passion ligger där, och inte i PC mjukvara.
Det skall inte vara några problem att bygga något som kopplas mellan en COM-port och K-lina som håller porten öppen. Kan du bara skapa ett program som kan ställa in 10400 i baud så.

@juve021 If you connect directly to the Can-bus you won't need any keep-alive packages. Your method should work well. So you have a 2004 S60, is there anything special you want to log? I have a few databases, one for 2000 and another for 2006. They can be used together with Canalyzer and I don't know if they are possible to convert. But i will look at them today and come back to you.

andreas, that would be great if you could look at your db's. I'm looking for CAN Ids and messages for boost and things like, window positions, door positions, alarm/keyfob button press and writing messages to the DIM (driver information module). Any info would be helpful! Thanks!

Sounds great that the lawicel can do the job, I've just opened the box on mine, looking forward to sniffing.

Does the Lawicel deliver/handle 12 volts out of the box? or is any conversion neccesary?
EDIT: I've learned that the CAN Low & high are not 12 volts in the vehicle, only 2-4 Volt :)

Andreas, I am not in this for commercial reasons, so no competition from me. If your company wants to work on something, I think that is a great idea, and I would be happy to supply all knowledge I may stumble upon.
We need to keep our volvo's going for many years to come, now that the chinese are taking over.

keyfob button press

I believe this communication is encrypted, so it may be difficult to access?
Keyfob signals the UEM(inside rear view mirror) which communicates with the CEM (where I guess the encryption keys are stored?)
The payload of the messages are the only thing that can be encrypted, obviously, so maybe we can get somewhere with it.
